Santiago Lautaro Stieben (born August 15, 1985) is an Argentine actor.
Santiago was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to María Elena and Ernesto Stieben who are both of German descent. He has four brothers: Milton, Román, Lionel, and Lara. While at elementary school Santiago showed a passion for performing and his family enrolled him in theatre classes. He studied under Helena Nesis and Eduardo Meneguelli, and has performed with Hilda Bernard, Ponchy Bruce, and Ricardo Robles.
Santiago's other passions include supporting the Club Atlético Atlanta football team and Argentine rock, in particular the Argentine rock band Los Redonditos de Ricota. He also enjoys travelling the world meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. Besides acting Santiago has also worked at various other jobs, including a casual clothing store in Buenos Aires and his family's local fast food restaurant.
Santiago Stieben began acting at a young age, appearing in a commercial for the company Jerry Mox, promoting "Vienissima", a brand of Argentine sausages. His most popularly role is as "Roña", the streetwise boy that he played in the successful 1995 Argentine television series Chiquititas (Tiny Angels). Between series Santiago participated in the popular theatre version of the show played at the Gran Rex theater in Buenos Aires and has also contributed to five music albums from the television series. In 1999, after five seasons, Santiago left Chiquititas, returning in 2001 for the shows final episode.
After Chiquititas Santiago played a mute in the "La Terapeuta" (The Therapist) episode of the television series Tiempo Final (Final Minute). He also made short appearances in the Argentine shows "Un Cortado: Historias De Café" (A History of Coffee), "Los Simuladores" (Pretenders) and "Disputas" (Catfight). Santiago played minor roles in the soap operas "Buenos Vecinos", "Los Médicos De Hoy", "PH", "Kachorra", "Dr. Amor", and "Amo De Casa". During this time he also did segments for the Saladillo local television network and was the summer of 2000 music and entertainment reporter for the show "La Movida del verano". In 2000 he also appeared in a movie for the University of Buenos Aires titled "Hybris".
In 2002, Santiago participated in the children's play "Diez Corazones" and in the 2003, performed in the musical comedy "Eliott Ness". His final role in a soap opera was in 2005 when he played the role of "Erre" in Media Falta. That year he also co-starred in the movie Marisol. In 2006 he produced with director Igancio Nazarevich the film El pibe de ningún lado (The Nowhere Boy), in which he also starred. At present Santiago is a co-host of the Disney Channel Latin America and is about to release a new movie titled Mala Rata (Bad Rat).
